Dave Webster provided a lot of information for us:

John Thomas Pearson of Melmerby born September 21 1821 Died September 14 1904.

The 1901 Census shows him as living at Melmerby Hall, a retired manufacturing chemist and JP.

The man on the right is carrying a staff and fits with the traveller motif of Lead Kindly Light? Note the purple clouds of “encircling gloom”.

Dave Webster kindly gave us photographs of the actual windows

We were perplexed by a reference to "Anglesey" by Donald Green in the NADFAS List at Ely. There was no further information. After some searching and writing to the Rev. Griffith who kindly supplied us
