Subjects:- Child in bed with four Angels surrounding.


Inscription:- “Four Corners to my Bed”.

Hand written in pencil on back of cartoon/sketch:- “Original sketch exhibited at R. A. 1902”


Also “Glass 2 feet seven and three-quarter inches diameter. 2 feet 10 and a half inch square in frame”.


Also “Diam in leaded panel 2 feet six and a half inches”


Also hand written in ink:- “William Glasby, 20 Church Row, Hampstead, NW”.


This cartoon/sketch is based on a Children's rhyme of this title and of which there are various versions. The most common seems to be:-


“Four corners round my bed

Four Angels around my head

One to watch and two to pray

And one to keep all fear away”.


No church is named.
