St. George’s, Brailes, Warwickshire.


The Work:- Window of two Lights with Tracery over.


Date:- 1925.


Location:- North wall, next to North door.


Subjects:- (l) Mary and (r) Martha of Bethany, but see below.


Inscriptions:- None.


Dedication:- “Lillian Maude Findlay 1886 – 1924. The gift of friends.”

Rev. Heighton advises that according to National Association of Decorative and Fine

Arts Societies (NADFAS) book the left is Mary Magdalene and the right is Mary mother

of James (Mark 16. V1.) and, therefore, the cartoon/sketch description is in error.


Back of the cartoon/sketch has Glasby’s Kensington address overwritten with Putney.


Also a handwritten note:- “See Llanelli”. This may refer to Logs 74 & 75 (Holy Trinity, Felinfoel, Carmarthenshire) regarding artistic content.
