Back of sketch has Glasby’s Kensington address overwritten with Putney.
The Work was installed in the Lady Chapel in 1936. However, the church was demolished in 2004, the congregation merging with Christ Church and is now known as “Christ Church and St Philips”. At the time St Philip’s was closed the then vicar (Fr Mark Cumins) sold many artefacts including Glasby’s work. He died in 2005. It is believed that no sale records exist.
The sequence of the angels shown on the back of the sketch differs from that “quoted in an old guide book” (according to Paul James) in that installation seems to be flipped. The work is attributed to Edward A. Moore of Putney.
A WW1 Memorial tablet (possibly by Glasby) was unveiled in 1921. See report by D. Green and D. & J. Hadley. P122. This tablet is now with the current vicar. Glasby’s name is not shown. I do not have a cartoon/sketch for this. Cost was £41/4/6.
