St Philip’s Church, Eastbourne, Sussex.


(Now known as Christ Church with St Philip.)


The Work:- WW1 Memorial Plaque.


Date:- 1921.

Inscriptions:- None.


Dedication:- “TO the glory of GOD the chancel window of this church is dedicated

by the congregation in honoured memory of the men who died for their country in THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918.

The Window referred to (see Log 68) was installed in the Lady Chapel. However, the church was demolished in 2004, the congregation merging with Christ Church and is now known as “Christ Church with St Philip”.


This plaque is now with the current vicar. Glasby’s name is not shown. I do not have a cartoon/sketch for this. Cost was £41/4/6. This equates to £2,100 in 2017.
