The Work:- Plaque in Opus Sectile mosaic
Date:- 1921.
Location:- South wall, opposite main door.
Subject:- Memorial to fallen in WW1.
Inscription:- (Top) “1914 – 1919”. (Bottom) “I WILL GIVE THEE A CROWN OF LIFE”.
Dedication:- “To the Glory of GOD and in Honour of Those Who at the Call of King and
Country left all that was dear to them, Endured Hardness, Faced Danger
and Passed out of the Sight of Men by the Path of Duty, Giving up Their
Own Lives that Others might Live in Freedom”.

I do not have a cartoon for this work, but a note by Glasby on the back of cartoon Log 177
advertises the above work, along with reference to other churches displaying his efforts.
Glasby’s name and a date are not shown, however church records say it was mounted in 1921, the cost being £109.13.6.
